DIN 6701 certification
Our organisation SVV Praha, s.r.o., member of the GSI-SLV company, extended its certification services by the adhesive process certification according to DIN 6701. We are a member of the group “Arbeitskreis Kleben DIN 6701”.

Classification of bonds
Class | Description | Level of safety requirement |
---|---|---|
A1 | Bonds on rail vehicles and their components with high-level safety requirements | High level Failure of the bond will lead to an inevitable hazard to life or limb, or will constitute a hazard to the safe operation of a rail vehicle. |
A2 | Bonds on rail vehicles and their components with medium-level safety requirements | Medium level Failure of the bond can lead to a hazard to the safe operation of a rail vehicle involving personal injury, or compromise its function as whole |
A3 | Bonded joints on rail vehicles and parts of rail vehicles with low safety requirements | Low level Failure of the bond will affect comfort at the most, any personal injury being unlikely. |
Z | Bonds on rail vehicles and their components with no safety requirements | No safety requirement Failure of the bond will not lead to personal injury nor adversely affect the safe operation of the vehicle. |
Any enterprise doing the construction and/or selling, buying and servicing bonded parts for rail vehicles must provide a valid certificate in accordance with this standard if:
- the EBA (Eisenbahn Bundesamt) requires it and/or
- the client requires it
The DIN 6701 standard was revised in 2014. The revision was published as the official applicable standard in the end of 2015.
The DIN 6701 standard has three parts:
- Part 2: Qualification of adhesive users (hereafter called user-companies) and compliance evaluation
- Part 3: Design specifications
- Part 4: Regulations for manufacturing adhesive bonds and quality assurance
